Billy Brackeen Obituary
Billy L. Brackeen , precious husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather went HOME on June 16th to be united with his Savior and all those he has loved so deeply. He was born in Dallas, Texas on August 27, 1921. He was the only child of Ira Lee and Effie Lenora. He grew up in Oak Cliff and graduated from Adamson High School. He and the love of his life, Evelyne, both graduated from S.M.U. in 1943 and he served in the Navy as a Lt. J.G. in the Pacific. He returned home in December, 1945 and received his law degree in 1948. He practiced law in Houston, Texas until February of 1998. He and Evelyne were long time members of West University Baptist Church where he taught a Men's Bible Class. He is survived by his daughter, Suzann Breed and husband John, and granddaughters Jennifer Smith and husband Jim, and Shannon Benton and husband James. His great grandchildren are Katie, Meg, and Jimmy Smith. Isaiah 40:31 "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." The family will have a private celebration of his life at a later date. Any remembrances in honor of his life should be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe, Houston, Texas 77030.
