Cecil Franklin James, Jr. died 1/18/13. Frank was born on 9/9/41 in Austin, Texas. He attended John Foster Dulles High School and Texas A&M University. Among his many hobbies, he was an avid outdoorsman and spent many years hunting in the mountains of Colorado and fishing in Texas and Louisiana. He enjoyed camping, traveling and cruising, most recently to Alaska where he visited Denali National Park. Frank worked in the pipe industry for over 55 years. He was an honest and hardworking man and gained the respect of all those with whom he did business. He never met a stranger and was kind, loving and tenderhearted, as is evident by his numerous friends and colleagues. He loved animals, especially dogs, many of which he had over the years. In his later years, Frank enjoyed watching the Astros, Aggies and Texans football and loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching them participate in sports or just being "Grandpa". He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Franklin and Willie Pearl (Weet) James. Survived by sisters Pat Rogers and Carol Wilson and husband Don, daughter Alison Smith and husband Steve and grandsons Jordan, Alex, Nicholas and Blake, son Trey and wife Sandra and grandsons Grant and Brayden, and step daughter Michelle and husband Rex and their children. He is also survived by very special friend Debbie James and his beloved dogs Callie, Shai and Cody. Frank battled heart and lung disease and numerous other health issues for many years and was a fighter till the end, never giving up. The family wishes to thank Debbie James, his cardiologist Dr. Leo Simpson and the wonderful, caring nurses and staff of St. Luke's Hospital The Medical Center Houston, in particular his nurses Wilma and Larcy in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Donations may be made in Frank's name to the . Visitation will be Thursday, January 24 from noon-2p.m. at Grand Parkway Baptist Church in Richmond, Texas with funeral services immediately following at 2:00p.m. Burial will be Friday, January 25 at 1:00p.m. in Burnet, Texas at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park of Burnet County.
