Obituary Condolences

Charles (Bud) Sears, 83, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Bud was born June 18, 1930 in Adrian, Michigan to Kenneth and Gertrude (Mason) Sears. He was a graduate of the Class of 1948 at Adrian High School. Bud married Nancy Howlett Sears September 13, 1952. He studied civil engineering at Michigan State University, graduating in 1954. Bud worked as a professional engineer for over 40 years in Michigan and in Texas.Bud enjoyed many years of coaching hockey and was instrumental in establishing the Jackson Area Hockey Association, where he served as president. Bud and Nancy made the move to Houston in 1979, making Texas their home. Bud is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, his brother Bob, and his parents.
He is survived by his children, Susie (Kirk) Bailey, Marty Sears and Mary (Jack) Everts, his grandchildren, Betsy (Christian)Ruth, Jolie (Theo) Williams, Holly, Joe (Sarah), Tom, Ian, Nick, Peter and Abby Bailey, Charlie and Molly Sears, Bailey, Austin, Connor and Garrett Everts, and his great grandchildren, Dorothy Ruth, Aria and Theo Williams, his sweetheart, Ramona Heard and her children, Diane, Debbie and Little Sun. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 1 PM at Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee Lane. Burial services will be in Adrian, Michigan. In lieu of flowers make donations to Grace Presbyterian Church.
