Charmayne Moody, born December 12, 1953 passed away in Houston, TX on January 6, 2013. She was born in Waco, TX and graduated from Richfield High School in 1971. She attended University of Texas Austin and graduated in 1975 with a music degree. Charmayne furthered her education and earned her law degree (JD) from South Texas College of Law in 1986 and began her career as an attorney for a Houston law firm concentration in the probate, guardianship and elder law areas. She was a member of the State Bar of Texas, the College of the State Bar, the Houston Bar Association, and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association. In addition she was a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and its Texas Chapter and served on the Board of the Disability and Elder Law Association. Charmayne also hosted a jazz radio show in the 80's and a radio program dealing with legal issues in the 90's. Charmayne was a friend of Bill W. Her earthly travels blessed thousands of people with her songs, poems, prayers and crazy personality. She went from legal secretary to attorney, but realized her calling was to help people in a closer sense. She became a trust officer with what is now Cadence Trust and as a trust officer, she blessed and comforted countless people through life's lowest ebbs. Her prayer lists covered her home, and no one was forgotten. The love of her life, Dick Pollard, her fighter pilot and drummer, left her on December 7, 2012. She now joins him and her precious mother and father, Dot and Dwight Moody. Heaven is now more musical than ever. Charmayne is survived by the friends she cherished, clients she helped, and strangers who she touched without them ever realizing it. Our hearts will cherish her memory forever. If Charmayne were here, she would sing, "This is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad".
