Danny was born January 13, 1935, to the late Gladys and Ernest Sherwood in Angleton, Texas. The eldest of three children, he is survived by his brother Larry Sherwood and sister Susan McConathy. Danny married Kathryn Ann Sherwood April 4, 1964, and they had three daughters, the late Lesli Ginther, Wendy Kanaan and Kristi Cooper. In addition to Ann, Wendy and Kristi, Danny is survived by his sons in law Simon Kanaan and John Cooper and cherished grandchildren Julian, Toney, Gabe and Dani "Sissy" Kanaan.
Danny played football for Jasper High School, where he graduated in 1952. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, attended the University of Texas at Austin and received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lamar University in 1963.
A Licensed Professional Engineer and Registered Land Surveyor, Danny built a successful career with several governmental agencies and retired from A&S Engineers in 2004. His many friends and family will always remember Danny's warm and kind disposition, big smile and great sense of humor. His stories and antics kept us entertained. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and a proud grandfather. A man of faith, Danny was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and participated in the Men's Breakfast Group and the Harmony Class. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
