Donald E. Kingsley, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Don enriched the lives of everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed. He is predeceased by his wife, Patty Russell Chapman and his mother Signa Kingsley.

Don is survived by sister Charlene Kelley, sister Sandie Yocum, his children Matthew Chapman of Houston, Elizabeth Chapman Lawrence and her husband David Lawrence of Austin, Kyle Kingsley and his wife Monica of Austin, and daughter Allyson Kingsley. Don is also survived by grandchildren Townes Lawrence, Brandon Leigh Lawrence, Aiden Kingsley and Tristan Kingsley.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Gail Layne, who was a constant companion and friend to Don and his family.
Don was born July 27, 1932 in Elroy Wisconsin and graduated from Michigan State University in 1954. After a successful career as an Executive with Mobil Oil, Don founded 'Dr. Don's Lawn Care' in Houston, where the business still operates today. Houstonians and his neighbors in Sugar Land, TX soon came to know him as "Doctor Don," or "Doc." Don was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. Even facing the unimaginable challenges of his last months, Don continued to be engaging and optimistic. Don's abiding love of life and others made him truly exceptional.
A funeral service and celebration of Don's life will be conducted on Wednesday, December 12th at Sugar Land First United Methodist Church, 431 Eldridge Road Sugar Land, Texas 77478. In lieu of flowers or customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 5005 Mitchelldale Suite 115, Houston, TX, 77092.
