Eddie Campbell Obituary
Eddie Herman Campbell, 88, passed away at his home on the evening of Saturday, April 5th. He was born January 1, 1926, in Van Zandt County, Texas, to Edwin B. Campbell and Onie Rachel Campbell (Ingram). Eddie was a United States Army veteran of WWII who proudly served in The Philippines and Japan. He worked for over 40 years as an investment counselor. He was most proud of his involvement and commitment to Memorial Church of Christ where he attended for over 50 years. He was a Deacon, Elder, and long-time member of the Mission Committee. Eddie loved spending time outdoors and traveling with his family.
He married his late wife Dorothy in Tyler, Texas, on the 15th of April 1944, right before he left for the war.
Eddie is survived by his daughter Sara Howard and her husband James of New Braunfels; son John Campbell and Helene Martin of Houston. Grandchildren Susan Fikes, John Campbell , Kim Howard-Humphries, and Jeff Campbell. Great -grandchildren Abbie and Leah Fikes.
A visitation for Eddie will be Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. Services celebrating Eddie's life will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Memorial Church of Christ, 900 Echo Lane, Houston, Texas 77024 at 1:30 PM. Eddie will be laid to rest at Ingram Family Cemetery in Edom, Texas on Friday at 2:00 PM
