ELAINE B. GREENBERG, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born in Dallas, TX to Sadie & Ben Utay. After attending college, she then became one of the first women to graduate from Tulane with a Master's of Social Work Degree. She retired from the M.D. Anderson Hospital Radiation Department after 25 years of dedicated service. She was also a co-owner of Ben Morris Jewelry Company in Dallas, TX. She was a member of the Harris County Medical Alliance, Baylor Faculty Wives, Hadassah and the National Council of Jewish Women. Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and dear friend to all who knew her. She lived life to it's fullest and never lost her infectious smile. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dr. S. Donald Greenberg and sister, Lois Utay Plumb. She is survived by her loving daughters, Elena Dinkin and husband Joel, Sherry Leva, Sandy Reckles and husband Mike; beloved grandchildren, Marcie and Alyson Dinkin, Jason and Melissa Leva, Adam Loftus, Jonathan and Meredith Reckles; cherished brother-in-laws, Dr. Richard Plumb, S.L. Greenberg and wife Natalie; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family members. Elaine will always be remembered as the matriarch of the entire family. The family would like to thank the caregivers who truly became part of the family, Alicia Shorter, Vickie Moore, Sandra Roberts and Vera Wilson for their care and compassion.
