Boyd of Houston TX passed away on February 15, 2014 at the age of 76.
Fannie was born in Palestine TX on July 10, 1937 to Henry Frank Eiglebiger, Sr. and Preshie Lee (Watkins) Eiglebiger. She graduated from A. M. Story Senior High School in Palestine TX and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Southern University.
She worked as a Medical Technologist at Texas Children's Hospital and later at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, LA until her retirement.
Fannie was a beloved member of her community in Houston, TX and New Orleans, LA. She was always active in her church and especially enjoyed singing with her beautiful soprano voice.
She was an avid traveler having visited 48 of the 50 states, only missing West Virginia and South Dakota. She visited 15 Caribbean countries and traveled often to Hawaii, visiting all four of the major islands.
Fannie is survived by her husband Morris Boyd, her loving daughter Zilphia LaNise Simon (her travelling buddy), her sons Nigel Boyd and Reginald Boyd, two brothers, Henry Eiglebiger Jr. (Bettie) and Lenard "Eigke" Eiglebiger, grandchildren Aja, Devon, Che and Larry and many loving nephews, nieces and other family and friends. Fannie was preceded in death by her two sisters, Rosa Trice and Cleopatra Kennedy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at 1pm at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, 2504 Almeda Genoa Rd., Houston TX, 77047. Rev. Kenneth Levingston will be officiating. The memorial service is being arranged by
