Fidel B. Fernandez ,born April 4, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 in Houston, Texas. In 1962, Fidel joined the United States Air Force and shortly after married his high school sweetheart. He was a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. After over twenty years of service, he retired from his career as a network specialist for the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Fidel was preceded in death by his father, Ben Fernandez. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Pauline; sons, Fidel A. Fernandez and Michael A. Fernandez and wife, Gracie; granddaughter, Faith Anne; mother, Lupe; sisters, Dora Escalera and Mary Ann Aguilar and husband Carlos; brother, Ralph Fernandez and wife Marie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 4, 2012 at 11:00AM, at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 18511 Klein Church Road, Spring, Texas. Interment will follow at Klein Memorial Park, Tomball, Texas.
