Frances "Fran" Noack Massey expired on Monday, the 11th of February 2013, in Houston, at the age of 90.|
She was a member of The Church of St. John the Divine, a graduate of Rice University and a member of the class of 1944 Golden Scholarship Committee of Rice University.
Fran was a life member of Rice University Associates, the Littlefield Society and the President's Association of the University of Texas at Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Sedgwick Noack and Arthur Earnest Noack; and by her husband of 54 years, W. Fred Massey in 2001. Her survivors include her daughter, Barbara Massey Williams and her husband Philip; granddaughter, Haley Erin Williams; and two step-granddaughters, Krisitn Williams Johnson and her husband Adam, and Nicole Williams.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Magdelena Caballero, Norma Avelos and Christina Villeda for all of their wonderful care and support.
A memorial service is to be conducted at half-past two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 16th of February, in the chapel of The Church of St. John the Divine, 2450 River Oaks Boulevard in Houston, where the Rev. Dr. Laurens A. Hall, Rector, is to officiate.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in Sumners Hall.
Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for a private entombment in the Chapel of the Oaks Mausoleum at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, and for those desiring, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Mrs. Massey's name be directed to the Rice Annual Fund - MS 83, Office of Resource Development, P.O. Box 1892, Houston, TX, 77251-1892.
