1918 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Dr. Frances Simms "Francie", 96, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 24, 2014. She is dancing in heaven with her husband "Dickie", the love of her life and rejoicing with her parents. She is survived by her 3 beloved daughters, Judy Crocker(Steve), Suzie Robinson (Frank) and Dr. Patricia Grant (Chris). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She contracted polio at 2 yrs old and with a lot of therapy and surgeries, she was able to walk again. She was inspired by all the doctors that helped her, and that made her decision to go to medical school so she could help others. Francie graduated with honors from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans and moved to Denver to practice as an anesthesiologist. She later moved to Midland, TX where she was chief of anesthesiology at Midland Memorial Hospital. She retired to Rockport, TX where they enjoyed living on the coast by the water, with many years of volunteering and being of service to the community. She spent the last 6 years as a resident of The Village at Gleannloch Farms in Spring, TX where she made many friends and enjoyed all the activities. She especially enjoyed attending the bible studies and church services where she grew even closer to the Lord in her later years. She had a real fondness for Pastor Schultz. She was exceptionally grateful to the caregivers and staff at The Village who gave her excellent care and whom she considered as friends. She was a most generous, positive and caring lady and when you knew her you loved her. Her smile would light up the room. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
