Frances Weinblatt Wolff Surrounded by her family, Frances Weinblatt Wolff passed away on September 9, 2013 after bravely confronting cancer. She was born to Eva and Harry Weinblatt on August 29, 1922 in Mart, Texas. Frances moved to Temple, Texas with her family in 1929 and graduated at the age of 16 from Temple High School. While in her freshman year at the University of Texas she received her life-long nickname , "Cuddles." After graduating from the University of Texas, she briefly worked in New York City and then moved to Houston where she met and married the love of her life, Alex Wolff, Jr. They were happily married for 55 years and raised two children, Joanie and David.|
Frances counted her friends and family as true blessings that enriched her life. She loved people and was adored by all. Her wonderful sense of humor and quick wit were appreciated by those who knew her.
She was devoted to Congregation Beth Israel where she served as a Secretary of the Board of Trustees and also in various leadership roles of the Sisterhood Board of Directors.
Frances is survived by her loving children, Joanie and Chuck Weiner and David and Leslie Wolff, her grandchildren who affectionately called her Gommy; Eric Weiner, Scott Weiner, Rebecca Wolff and Alex Wolff; her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Wanda Weinblatt, of Temple, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her.
The family would like to thank Sherry Galentine, Vanessa Young, Gloria Lewis and Patricia Durham, who provided comfort and care during her illness.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Congregation Beth Israel, 5600 N. Braeswood. Rabbi David Lyon, Rabbi Adrienne Scott and Cantor Daniel Mutlu officiating.
