Frederick William Witt, Jr., 76, of Houston passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013. He was born on October 29, 1936 in Houston, Texas to Frederick William Witt, Sr. and Avis Smith Witt.

Fred graduated from John H. Reagan High School. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in education. Fred retired from teaching in 2001 after 41 years at Trinity Lutheran School in Houston.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Eunice; daughter Karen Witt Buschardt and husband Chuck of Houston; son Edward Witt and wife Mary Beth of Houston; grandchildren Benjamin, Timothy, Emma, and Cade Witt; sister Rosemary Jones of The Woodlands; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and students.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Heights Funeral Home. A service celebrating Fred's life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 800 Houston Avenue, Houston, Texas 77007. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Allen, Louis Faszholz, Milton Pursley, William Rutherford, Clarence Smith, and Dolph Wenzel. Honorary pallbearers are David Dohme, David Faszholz, George Sauer, and Robert Wottrich.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church HUG2.
