Gene Sullivan Obituary
Eugene (Gene) Sullivan, age 85, of Taylor Lake Village, Texas passed away on January 16, 2013.
Gene Sullivan gave so much of himself to so many people. One who always had room at his table and room in his heart for all of those whose lives he touched. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew him.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 17, 1927 to Michael and Joan Sullivan who were originally from County Cork, Ireland. He was an alumnus of Cathedral School (Chicago), attended the University of Illinois at Navy Pier, Illinois Institute of Technology and the Goodman School of Drama (Chicago). He honorably served in the United States Marine Corp as well.
A nearly 50 year career in construction management took him to many national and international destinations. He touched many lives throughout his working career and will be so missed. Gene Sullivan was a devoted Roman Catholic, a patron of the arts and a friend to everyone he met. A man of humor, cheer, sweetness and kindness. Voted the swellest guy in high school, and that is exactly what he was - the swellest guy.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sherry, whose artwork he proudly supported, his children Patrick Sullivan and wife Patricia, Michael Sullivan and wife Diane, Noah Sullivan and wife Julie, Gena Settle and husband Ron, son-in law Zack Levitt, his grandchildren Erin Sullivan and husband Gustavo, Grace and Bennett Sullivan and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his daughter Molly Sullivan Levitt, his father Michael Sullivan, mother Joan Sullivan, brothers Michael and Cornelius Sullivan, and sister Joan Matjasich.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at 18223 Point Lookout Dr in Nassau Bay, Texas on March 01, 2013 at 11:00 AM preceded by the Rosary at 10:30 AM. Father Wencil Pavlovsky will be the officiant. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois.
