1929 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
George Arnold Canon passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. He was born on November 30, 1929 to Dr. Robert T. Canon and Lorean Lingo Canon in Lubbock, TX. He graduated from TCU, served in the U.S. Army, and received a law degree from the University of Texas, Austin. His passion was bicycling and writing and he recently published two novels.
He was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, The Woodlands, TX and served as a volunteer with Lord of the Streets Episcopal. He was also a Ministry Team volunteer, Chaplaincy Services, at Memorial Hermann Hospital, The Woodlands.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marilyn Denman Canon and brother Robert Travis Canon II. He is survived by his daughter Candace Canon Williams and husband Andy of Spring, TX, nephews Travis Canon of Golden, CO, and Austin Canon of Santa Fe, NM, and niece Lorean Canon of Corte Madera, CA.
A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, The Woodlands on Monday, August 18th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Lord of the Streets Episcopal, Houston or the Memorial Hermann Foundation, Chaplaincy Services, The Woodlands, TX.
