James Moye Obituary
Dr. James A. Moye, D.D.S. La muerte no puede separar a los que son animados por el mismo espiritu. Death cannot separate those who are enlivened by the same spirit.
James Andrew Moye, D.D.S. ("Majestic Jim") peacefully moved on and graduated from the course of life with honors, June 7, 2014 at the age of 85. Jim graduated from Corpus Christi High School, served four years in the Air Force. He went on to work as a lab and x-ray technician at Heights Hospital where he would meet his future wife, Traute Heidemann. He received a degree in music from the University of Houston. He went on to get his dental degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston. He became politically active, starting with Ben Reyes and later was active in campaigns for Mickey Leland, Bob Krueger and many other local politicians. He served on the Harris County Hospital Board and is a lifetime member of LULAC. He received a degree in French from the University of Houston in his 60s and was a lifelong student of life. He lived his life with passion, speaking many languages, quoting Shakespeare and telling limericks, singing operatic arias as well as enjoying karaoke. He was a large presence and will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Margaret Herrera. He is survived by his ex wife Traute Moye; sons William Andrew Moye and Brian Adair Moye and wife Cinda Shields Moye; daughter Felicia Karen Moye and husband Jose De La Cruz; granddaughter Sydney Adair Moye, grandsons Larson Thomas Moye and Chase Alexander Moye; brother William Alfred Moye and wife Barbara Naughton Moye; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the charity of you choice. Jim has donated his body to the University of Texas.
