John R. Harvey Obituary
JOHN R. HARVEY passed away on July 7, 2013 after a 13 year battle with cirrhosis. He was born on March 24, 1926 in Huntington, Indiana to Fred Augustus Harvey and Edna Bell Harvey. He served his country in the army Air Corp during World War II. He graduated from Purdue University in 1950 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. John was a member of the TriAngle Fraternity. He specialized in pneumatic conveying for 51 years, manufacturing for 23 years, then for several engineering construction companies for 28 years. He was a Mason for 15 years. After converting to Catholicism, he was a Knight of Columbus for 25 years. He was also a member of the Irish Club in Houston for 20 plus years, where he did Folk Irish dancing.
He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 39 years, Marlene Harvey of Katy, Texas; son, Steven Marsh and his wife Cindy of California, and their children, Alexandria Marsh and Korynn Marsh. Daughter, Donna Marsh of Houston; John David Harvey, Peggy Hornick and her husband Paul, and Brenda McIntrye and her husband Mike; and grandchildren, Nichola Tait, Zachory Harvey, Carrie McIntrye, and Charlie McIntrye. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, in Katy, with Rev. Dan Warden, Celebrant.
