Kathleen Louise Carson, 64, passed away at her residence on May 2 after a sudden battle with cancer. She was born on March 4, 1949 in Sterling, Illinois to parents Jeanne Longabaugh Carson and Lawrence Washington 'Kit' Carson. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother and is survived by one brother and two sisters, as well as several nieces and nephews. Kathy graduated from the Kinkaid School, attended Southwest Texas State University, and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas, Austin. After teaching at Dulles High School, Kathy managed business operations for the Health Sciences Consortium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In 1996 she opened a Tex-Mex restaurant in Brunswick, Maine. After a major auto accident, Kathy joined Second Baptist Church in Houston and Republican political interest groups. In 2001, she joined Carpenter's Way Baptist Church in Lufkin. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service honoring Kathy on August 8th at 11AM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8701 Almeda Genoa Road, Houston, Texas.
