Kenneth Dane Obituary
Kenneth Dane went home on October 24, 2012 in Houston, TX. He was born on June 20, 1925 in Dallas, TX to Otis and Ethel Smith.
Ken was born and raised in Dallas. He joined the Merchant Marines in 1943 and served his country during WWII. In 1947, Ken was married to the love of his life and they moved to Houston to begin their life together as a family. He worked for Sinclair Oil after WWII until the early fifties and then started his career in tool sales starting with Stanley Tools.
He was generous man with a big heart who always offered a helping hand. Ken was a very engaging person who had a positive influence on many people. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Ken is predeceased by his parents, Otis Lee and Ethel Smith Dane and brother, Phillip Dane.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Ewing Dane; son, Matthew Dane and wife Celeste; step granddaughter, Rhonda Sloan and husband Daniel; and step great granddaughters, Anabella and Scarlett Sloan.
Service times and dates are pending with Carnes Funeral Home in South Houston, TX.
