Lawrance Edward "larry" Soptick Obituary
LAWRANCE EDWARD "LARRY" SOPTICK , 64, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2014.
He was born in Houston, Texas, June 26, 1950. Larry graduated from Mount Carmel High School and enlisted in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. While stationed in Yuma, Arizona, he attended Arizona State University. Upon returning to Houston, Larry attended the University of Houston and followed in his father's footsteps by joining the Harris County Sheriff's Department. He welcomed two beautiful daughters and became a doting father. Larry moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and later to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he began his career in building construction with Charthouse Restaurants. He returned to Houston, Texas in 1988 and worked for several construction companies until 2004, when he realized his dream and started his own construction company, Texas Alliance Group, Inc. His company has continued to thrive under the direction of his wife and daughter. Larry enjoyed fishing, golf, and traveling. He always had a generous nature and loved animals.
Larry will be missed by his wife, Mary Ann Wymore; daughters, Lisa Marie Soptick, and Connie Elizabeth Soptick; mother, Hazel Mae Soptick; sisters, Susan Wind and husband Erwin, Kathy Horton and husband Donald, Martha Lefner and husband John, Theresa McNair, Mary Price, and Jacque Soptick and partner Angela; brothers, Danny Soptick and wife Becky, Michael Soptick, and Frank Soptick; and his beloved beagles, Coco, Lola, Mandy and Alice. He is also survived by his 13 nieces and nephews, and 13 great-nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Edward John Soptick.
Family and friends will gather at 1 pm for viewing followed by a memorial service at 2 pm at Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX.
