Leander Pflughaupt Leander Pflughaupt, 90, died February 14, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund Sr. and Selma Meyer Pflughaupt, and brothers Edmund, Jr. "Boysie" and Glenn "Dickie" Pflughaupt. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Josephine; son Larry & spouse Dorothy; daughter Carol Globke; son Lynn & spouse Dana; along with 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Graduated from Fayetteville High School where he met his future wife Josephine Jane Hilsher. They married on July 5, 1942, and moved to Houston. Drafted into military service in March of 1944 where he served in the 7th Armored Division "Lucky 7" of the United States Army during the Battle of the Bulge in WW II. Circumstance led to capture and detention in a German concentration camp in New Brandenburg, N. of Berlin. Upon his discharge he went to work for the City of Houston Water Department where he retired with 37 years of service. He was a member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War, VFW, SPJST, Sons of Hermann, and St. Mark's United Methodist Church
Visitation will be Sunday, February 17 from 4 to 7 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday at 11 am in Woodlawn Funeral Home chapel followed by interment in Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
