Maria Lollar
From life to eternal life everlasting, Maria Mahrer Lollar, 61, passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2014 in Spring, TX, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Maria was born on Dec 4th, 1952 in California & eventually graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in both English & French. She was voted "Most Beautiful" at Greenville HS, won the title of "Miss Greenville", & participated in the "Miss Texas Pageant". On her 5th day in Houston, Maria met the love of her life, Fred Lollar, who became her best friend & loving partner for the past 38 years. Over time, she worked as a schoolteacher, then as a flight attendant with Continental Airlines for 13 years, & co-operated Tee Time Golf Range with her husband for the past 25 years.
Most important in Maria's life were her love of God & never-ending devotion to her husband & daughter. Maria felt her greatest accomplishment in life was giving birth to & helping mold the life of her daughter Kristen. She adored watching Kristen grow into the woman that she has become.
Maria was predeceased by her parents, Brunine & Albert Mahrer. Maria leaves the following to remember & cherish her memory: devoted husband Fred, loving daughter Kristen, brothers Bill, Bob, James and Jerry Mahrer, & each brother's respective spouses & children.
Sincere appreciation is extended to the excellent support staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for their gentle care over the past four years.
The family is hosting a celebration of Maria's life on Sunday, June 8th at 2:00pm at Champion Forest Baptist Church, officiated by pastor Benny Sanders. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception at the church.
