Marilyn Lowery, a native of Los Angeles, California, passed away April 25, 2014.|
For many years Marilyn was a prize winning English teacher at Beverly Hills High School in Beverly Hills, CA, and an adjunct professor of creative writing at UCLA. Her books included: Mad Pursuit, Blue Ribbons for Juliet, How to Write Romance Novels, and a number of regency romances. She was also an accomplished pianist and a long time docent for The Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.
She is survived by her sister Pat Collins and husband Wally in Massachusetts, nephew Joseph Nixon and wife Allyson, niece Eileen McGowan, first cousins Mary Boyles, husband Jim, Sr. Jane Meyer, all of Houston, and other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Mass will be celebrated in her memory on Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Cyril's Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Culver City, Los Angeles.
