Melvin Leonard Littman, of Houston, Texas passed away on June 24, 2014. Mr. Littman, son of Amos and Edna Littman, was born on December 23, 1927 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1945 and from the University of Texas in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and was a member of AEp fraternity. While in Austin, Texas, Mr. Littman met and courted his future wife Shirley Hurwitz. They married on September 18, 1949 and were married for almost 55 years. They made their home in Houston, Texas where Mr. Littman worked in the retail furniture business for 50 years and was the owner of Furniture Warehouse for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Littman and his brother Gerald Melamed. Mr. Littman is survived by his sister, Rosalyn Lieberman, and his brother, Jack Melamed. He is also survived by his daughter Linda Forrest and husband Richard, his son Dr. Mark A. Littman and his wife Jeline; grandchildren Rabbi Alissa Miller, Jeffrey Forrest, Phillip Littman, Daniel Littman, Kyle Littman and great- grandchildren Leo Miller, Daniel Littman and Ava Littman. The family would like to thank the staff at University Place, Dr. Milton Guerrero, Lillian and especially devoted caregivers, Francisca and Sonny, for their care and services rendered so lovingly to our father and grandfather. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Beth Yeshurun Cemetery, with Rabbi Jack Segal officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the
