Ralph Edwards
Bullington 98, born in Poolville, TX on December 18, 1914, passed away on July 1, 2013 in Dallas, TX. A celebration of Ralph's life will be held at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, at the intersection of Kessler Blvd and Santa Fe Street in Wichita Falls, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Ralph attended Weatherford Junior College before graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, where he lettered, and remained an ardent supporter of The Longhorns. He served in WWII in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre and attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. After the war, he began his career in the oil and gas business with his best friend and partner, Jack O'Donohoe and continued his career by co-founding McMahon Bullington with his brothers-in-law, John and Joe McMahon. In addition to affiliations with various oil and gas associations, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Wichita Falls, TX, and a lifetime member of the University of Texas Alumni Association.
Ralph was the consummate gentleman, always making sure his friends and family was taken care of and happy. Of all his many accomplishments, in his own words, his greatest achievement was the family he loved and nurtured for all his days. It was often said by Ralph: "The important thing with family is to have unity and to date we have. If you don't have unity, you don't have a family. We all shall work to keep it that way."
He is predeceased by his wife, Myra Jane McMahon Bullington. He is survived by his son, John Bullington, Sr. and wife Boone; 3 daughters: Janie Daddario and husband Jim, Sarah Merrick and husband Tommy, and Hallie Welfelt and husband Tom; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren: John Bullington, Jr. and wife Holly and their sons, Jack and Finn; Ralph Francis Bullington and Angie Hammerstein Bullington and their daughters Ellis and Kate; Jim Bullington and wife Kristin; Sarah Daddario and husband Jason Cook and their children, Harrison, Hallie Rose and Janie; Hallie Daddario Jones and husband Cooper and their children, Landon, Adeline and Luke; Victoria Daddario Wolfe and husband Matt and their daughters, Annabelle and Caroline; Myra Jane Daddario Reynolds and husband Harvard and their children, Tucker and Molly McClain; Caroline Merrick McDowell and husband Rob, and their daughter, Catherine; Thomas Merrick and wife Erin; and Hallie Merrick. He leaves behind a family legacy of love through his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren; and 6 nieces and 2 nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews who all knew and loved "Uncle Ralph". He is also survived by Barbara Mills, his loving friend.
