1935 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
Richard M Fisher, 78, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2014 in Wimberley, TX. Richard was energetic and enjoyed life to its fullest. He was a loving father and grandfather. He loved fly fishing with his sons, world travel, long walks, cross country drives and spending hours on his porch with his many close friends and loyal dog, Sedona.
Born September 20, 1935 in New York City. He received his undergraduate degree at Principia College, Elsah, IL in 1957 and a master's degree from the University of Texas in 1968.
For 15 years he taught at the Kinkaid School in Houston, TX. After moving to Sausalito, CA, he met and married Gisela Bigden-Fisher and worked as a products trainer for Apple Computers for many years. He and his wife retired to Prescott Valley, AZ. After her death, Richard relocated to Wimberley, TX in 2010 to be closer to his sons and grandchildren.
Richard is predeceased by his beloved wife, Gisela Bigden-Fisher, his sister Muriel Fisher and brother Louis Fisher. He is survived by his sons and their wives; Jonathan and Lisa Fisher, Peter Fisher and Sharon Lundgren in Houston, TX; his step son, Maurice Bigden Jr. of Healdsburg, CA and step daughter and her husband, Monica & John Wixted of San Diego, CA; 8 grandchildren; Sasha Bajaj, Joseph, Nathan, and Noah Fisher, Kristopher and Danika Wixted, Maurice III and Lexington Bigden, and great granddaughter, Aurora Bajaj. He remained close friends to his first wife, Helen Shaner Hankins.
The family is planning a private celebration of life this October in Wimberley, TX. In lieu of flowers please send donations in honor of Richard to: WimberleyWagRescue.org
