Robert Parkinson Obituary
Robert Lynn (Bobby) Parkinson , 72, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at his home in Boquete, Panama. Bobby was born on December 4, 1941, at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas, to Ben and Marguerite Parkinson. After graduating from Lamar High School in 1960 and attending The University of Texas, Bobby returned to Houston where he worked with his father at Parkinson Equipment Company. In 1979, he started his own company, Parkinson Incorporated. He and his wife, Sandi, moved to Blanco, Texas in 1983 where they lived until he retired to Boquete, Panama, in 2010.
Bobby loved gardening, golfing, bar-b-que and football, especially his Longhorns. He attended Good Shepard Catholic Church in Johnson City, Texas, where he was involved with bar-b-que fundraisers. He never knew a stranger and business acquaintances soon became life-long friends. Bobby always had a joke to share. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sandi, his son Robby Parkinson and wife Nikki, his grandson Connor Parkinson, his sister Lacey Carey and husband Ted, his nephews Chad Carey and Andy Carey and wife Megan, all of Houston.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will take place Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecelia Catholic Church. Please bring "Bobby Stories" to share with all at the visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The University of Texas Alumni Center or any Humane Society.
