Robert (Bob) Thomas Skellenger My Darling Husband of 39 years, Robert (Bob) Thomas Skellenger, 81, gained his angel wings on March 6, 2013 in Katy, Texas. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, Sylvia, family and our special friend, Cherry. We are devastated and know that our lives will never be the same.
Bob was born on February 21, 1932 in San Francisco, CA to Mervyn J. and Annette M. Skellenger. He enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953 at USNAS, Corpus Christi, TX.
He married Emma Jo Pearce in 1951. They had four children, Linda Ann, Katherine Marie, Anthony Joseph and Thomas Pearce. In 1973, Bob re-married to Sylvia Romero and together they raised their four legged kids; Sammy, Tatter and Goldie.
Bob retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone; during his 32 year tenure he received numerous sales awards for his outstanding performance. In addition, Bob's passion for the movies lead him to work at various movie outlets. He was particularly known for his infectious sense of humor and positive outlook on life in general; which was continous up to the end.
Bob is survived by his four children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. Final interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA.
