Solomon Joseph Goldman passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. Sol was born on September 20, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York. Sol served in the Army Air Corp during World War II first serving in North Africa, then Sicily and Italy and returned after the war to begin his life long career as a real estate developer. Upon his return to the United States, Sol met and married the love of his life, Pearl Fetner, and they spent 68 years living in New York, Florida and Houston. Sol was preceded in death by his parents Celia and Sam Goldman and his four sisters Sally, Annie, Lilly and Rosie. Sol is survived by his loving wife, Pearl, his three children, Merryl Zuber and her husband, Gordon, Ronni Simon and her husband, Peter, Stuart Goldman and his wife, Debbie, as well as five grandchildren, Aaron Geller and his wife, Darcy, Carrie Schein and her husband, Jeremy, Willie Simon, Tyler Goldman, and Hayden Goldman, and great-grandchildren, Olivia Geller, Jackson Geller, Gray Geller, Chloe Schein and Ryder Schein. The family wishes to express its gratitude to Sol's physicians and to Houston Hospice for their loving care and attention. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11:00am at the Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism, 801 Bering with internment following at Emanu El Cemetery.
