T. Allen Acree, 79 of Simonton, Texas, passed away on November 25, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents Willie Mae and John Ford Acree Sr., two daughters Carrie Lynn McLaughlin and Esther Gayle Acree. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Elma and daughter Patsy Acree of Simpsonville, South Carolina. Allen attended Texas City High School, served the US Army for 2 years in Germany with the 4th Armored Division and always enjoyed attending the reunions for both groups. He graduated college from the University of Texas at Austin and was an avid Longhorn fan and alumni. For over 30 years, Allen was in the insurance business and later sold real estate. Allen enjoyed family travels, antique cars and sports. His love of horses and people kept him active for over 40 years as a director and lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Tejas Vaqueros and Valley Lodge Trail Ride. He will be sadly missed by many friends and family, but know he is now at peace with angels.
