Tyra Dinujuen Elzy was born on Thursday February, 28th, 1985 to Phyllis R. Elzy in Independence, LA. He grew up in the small town of Kentwood to a tight knit family. He has an older sister and two younger brothers.

He attended Kentwood High School and graduated in 2003. He went on to attend Nashville Auto Diesel Collage in Nashville, TN. He made his way to Texas through job opportunities in early 2005.
Tyra met Jessica in September of 2005 and they were inseparable from then on. They were blessed with a beautiful baby girl whom they named after his Grandmother, Emma, in July of 2007. They later were married in July of 2009.
He worked for Cargill Steel Services from May of 2007 till his passing. He volunteered his time and love to his community. He and Jessica started rescuing strays in 2006 then in 2011 they started volunteering at a rescue. After a year of trying to convince Jessica to let him be a Firefighter he started training with the City of La Porte in October 2013. He succeeded and was stationed at the Station 1 department. He loved firefighting.
Tyra and Jessica found out they were expecting a second child on Christmas Eve 2013. He is survived by His wife Jessica, Daughter Emma, Baby girl Tyra, and many more friends and family.
