Vincent Canales passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Houston Hospice surrounded by his family. Vincent was born in Pasadena, TX. on July 23, 1935.
He is survived by his loving companion Rachel Villarreal and his children Karla Canales and Steven Canales. Vincent was raised in Baytown, Texas.
Vincent was preceded in death by his Father Ignacio Canales Sr. and his Mother Margarita Canales and wife Angelica Canales and sons Vincent and Vincent Edward Canales. Vincent grew up in Baytown, Texas where he was raised by his loving uncle and aunt Angel and Maria C. Garcia and family. He is preceded in death by brother Angel Garcia and sister Isabel Garcia Ybarra. He is survived by his siblings Ignacio Canales Jr and wife Josie of Katy, Roberto Garcia and wife Bernarda of Baytown, and Alicia Arredondo of Houston, and Aunt Beatrice Garcia of Pasadena. Vincent served his nation in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Greece and traveled extensively in Europe. He attended the University of Houston and the University of Texas. Vincent formerly attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baytown. He was a member of the VFW and the Knights of Columbus. His working career spanned over forty years in the offshore engineering industry where he was employed by engineering companies in Houston such as Bechtel, Fluor Ocean Services and Brown and Root. During this time he had several overseas assignments working on projects in locations such as the UK, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico.
Vincent had many friends thru the years and enjoyed their friendship. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to the Catholic Charities of the Houston Galveston Diocese or the .
