William Ralph Mace, age 89, passed away on December 30, 2013 in Houston, Texas. He was born in Neosho, Missouri on September 23, 1924. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Don and Carrie Mace, his sisters Margaret Hill and Frances Harber, and his first wife of 34 years, Reba Mace. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joyce Mace; daughter Marilyn Smith and husband Rob; son Clark Mace and wife Nache; grandson Alan Smith, wife Sarah Jo and daughter Eilonwy; granddaughter Amy Wagner, husband Rob and son Jack; granddaughter Nache Marie Mace; granddaughter Caroline Mace; stepson, Mike Holt and wife Vicki and step-grandson Troy Holt and wife Lena and son Chance.

Bill grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma and joined the U.S. Army upon graduation from Bowlegs High School in 1942. He proudly served in the Signal Corps during World War 2. He returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma after his service in the European Theater, and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Tulsa. He worked in the Treasury Department of Gulf Oil Corporation for 37 years becoming the Director of Banking and Cash Management in the Houston office. His hobbies included wood carving, traveling and he was a Master Gardener with the Harris County Extension Service. He was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church for 48 years.
