George A. Hall, Sr. (78) of Kingwood, Texas, formerly of Laurel, Mississippi went to be with our Heavenly Father Wednesday ,May 14, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He was born October 3, 1935 to Kervin R. Hall, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Kinard) Hall.
After graduating Gardiner High School in Laurel, Mississippi he joined the U. S. Navy and served as a UDT in the Artic and off the coast of Cuba. His career, as an Mechanical Engineer of 39 years with National Oilwell in Citronell, Alabama ended with his retirement in Houston, Texas in 2002.
While visiting relatives in Meridian, Mississippi as a young boy he met his wife of 57 years, Joyce Weaver and was married on December 30, 1956. Together they had three loving sons.
He was a Godly man and a loving dad to his children and a loving grandfather to his seven grandchildren. Much of his retirement was spent hunting and fishing with anyone who would go with him. He was also an active member of the Second Baptist Church north campus in Kingwood, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, sons George, Jr., Phillip (Myong), and Randy (Meaw); seven grandchildren, Timothy, Matthew, Melissa, Patrick, Daniel, Megan, and Kenneth. Visitation with the family was 6-8 pm Thursday, May 15, 2014 followed by the sharing of food and fond memories. Funeral services were 10:00 am Friday, May 16, 2014 at Second Baptist Church in Kingwood followed by interment in the Houston National Cemetery.
