Harold Buford Craig
Born June 9, 1931 (Riverside, California) went to his heavenly fathers house on August 17, 2013. Son of Fred Lee and Ida Myrtle (Lewis) Craig of Mena, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Joyce Craig, two sisters, Sandy (Ralph) Clark, Hazard, Kentucky, Norma Meuser (Hot Springs, Arkansas) sons Jeff Wince (Donn) of Mancos, Colorado, Jason Craig (Kim) of Rancho Cucamonga. Grand children Janine (Ivan) Thomas- Maryland, Jonathan Wince-Arizona, James, Luke, Matthew, John Craig-California, one great-granddaughter, 29 nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a younger and older brother and grand son Justin Wince.
A long time resident of Upland, California where he and his wife raised their two children, and was currently residing in Hemet, California when he passed away.
Harold was a loving husband, father, grand father and great-grand father. He took great pride in his family and cared deeply for them. He was a current long-time member and Past president of the Hemet California and Plymouth Ohio Lions Clubs, Past Exalted Ruler of the Hemet Elks Lodge, Councilman for the township of Plymouth, Ohio. Harold was steadfast in his Christian faith, a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Hemet, California, former member of First Lutheran Church, Ontario, California and a founding member of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church of Rancho Cucamonga, California. He took an active role in everything that he was involved in.
He retired from General Telephone Company after a 31 year engineering management career. In his retirement he along with some other retired friends from GTE formed an Engineering firm in Covina, California and he and his wife started Hal-Joy Ceramics company in San Jacinto, California. His interests included music, wood working, painting, public service, keeping up with his grand children. He enjoyed traveling between California and Ohio visiting friends and family along the way.
A memorial and celebration of his life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 191 Columbia Street, Hemet California on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00 am. Those attending the memorial please wear a hat or base ball cap in his honor. Burial will be in Plymouth, Ohio.
