Louis Otto Carro
The fourth child of Joseph and Josephina Carro, was born in Rochester, New York on 28 January 1923, and died on 5 September 2013. He attended East High School, where met Ida Rose Camarata, whom he married on 19 February 1941. In February 1942, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Dade until May 1944.
He lived in Rochester, where his four children (Joseph, Jessica, Louis, and Cheryl Ann) were born. He moved to California in March 1956, where he worked a postal carrier, until he was employed by Timely Advertisers, where he became the production manager. He then worked for Postal Services in the City of Industry, where he rose to the position of Executive Vice-president.
He and his wife retired in LaVerne, where they lived for more than 35 years. For more than 40 years, he sang with barber shop groups, and participated in numerous concerts. He was an active citizen, and a founding member of the RSVP organization in the City of LaVerne, who honored him for his many years of service.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Jessica, and Ida, his wife of 68 years, and is survived by his sons Joseph and Louis, his daughter Cheryl Ann, 7 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held at Todd Memorial Chapel on Sunday 15 September, a funeral mass on Monday 16 September at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.
