Norman R. Jenison

1932 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
After a long farewell, Norm's 10-year challenge with cancer has ended and he is now in the presence of his Savior whom he loved and served all his life. Norm was born to Ray and Florence Jenison in Long Beach, California and grew up in Santa Barbara, where he began working for Southern California Edison right after high school. He served for 2 years in the US Army during the Korean War and worked for Edison a total of 41 years. His career with SCE took him and his family throughout Southern California, settling in Apple Valley from 1968-1983, and then moving to Lake Arrowhead to serve as District Manager before retiring. Norm and his wife Janet, have lived in Lake Arrowhead for the past 31 years, making many dear friends. Norm was an avid sailor and first learned to sail on Lake Arrowhead when he was a young teenager. His passion for sailing took him to many regattas up and down the west coast. It is interesting to note that his sailing adventures began and ended on Lake Arrowhead. Norm was a humble, kind, hardworking, and generous man with a great sense of humor. He selflessly devoted his life to his wife, family and others. Through the years, Norm had been an active member in his church, Gideon's International, Community Bible Study, Kiwanis, Rotary Club, and Lake Arrowhead Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Janet Jenison; his cherished children, Doug and Jennifer Jenison of Los Osos, Julie and Sean Garrett of Fallbrook, Danny and Miriam Jenison of Quartz Hill, Scott and Priscilla Jenison of Lancaster; 14 treasured grandchildren and 11 adored great grandchildren. The celebration of his life will be held at Church of the Woods, Saturday, March 29th, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to African Orphanage Outreach or Gideon's International.
