RONALD CARMEN PALMER
Ron passed away peacefully at his home on June 4th, surrounded by family. A resident of La Verne, Ron was born in Hubbard, Ohio on April 3, 1944, to Carmen and Della Palmer. He played high school football at Hubbard High where he made several life-long friends and met his future wife, Ruth Ann. Ron and Ruth moved to California and were married on October 13, 1962. As a new husband and young father, and while working full-time, he received his degree from UCLA. He was the youngest General Manager of the Foothill Municipal Water District, where he worked for over 35 years, and retired from in 2003. He sat on the Raymond Basin and Valley Water Company Boards. Ron coached Little League baseball for many years while living in Pasadena and supported the activities his children and grandchildren were involved in. Ron and Ruth moved to Hillcrest Retirement Community in 2012. Ron is predeceased by his parents Carmen and Della Palmer and his sister Carole Rosile. He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Ruth Palmer, his children Deneen Riley, Kip Palmer and Michelle Vinci, and his six grandchildren. He took great pride in his family, his work, and his faith. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a sharp intellect, unwavering faith, and impeccable integrity. He was a great man who will be greatly missed. Viewing will be at Todd Memorial Chapel in Claremont on Friday June 21st from 5 to 8pm. His funeral will be held at Todd Memorial Chapel in Claremont on Saturday, June 22nd at 11am, followed by a graveside service at La Verne Cemetery. There will be a reception in the Main Meeting Hall at Hillcrest Homes in La Verne at 1pm.
