Clayton Eugene Markham Jr., 84 passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2014.
Clayton was born February 7, 1930 in Iowa City, IA. He was raised in Cedar Rapids, IA, served in the United States Marine Corp and was a paint contractor in the Brawley area for many years. He married Doris Dickey on July 26, 1947, raised four children and spent 40 years married before Doris' passing on May 17, 1988. He was blessed with a second chance at companionship when he married Joan Williams on January 7, 1989 and was married for 22 years before Joan's passing on September 27, 2011. More than anything, he loved fishing on the Colorado River and passed that love onto his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Markham and his second wife, Joan Markham; sisters, Ethel Elder, Mary Booth, Beverly Lineweaver, and Loretta Collins and grandson, CJ Markham. He is survived by his children, Terry Whiteley and Charlotte Markham, Spokane, WA, Michael Markham (Chris), Imperial, CA, and Clayton Markham Yuma, AZ; 7 grandchildren, 8 great- grandchildren: Brian Whiteley (Virginia), Mason, Chance, Spokane, WA; Kim Whiteley, Jevin, Spokane, WA; JD Donohue (Charlotte) Imperial, CA; Lori Pipkin (Mike), Austin, Cody, Imperial, CA; Ryan Markham (Lisa) Jake, Chloe, Imperial, CA; Jevin Markham (Jennifer), Sebastian, Imperial; Kurt Markham, Imperial, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately.
