Sept. 15, 1932 - July 4, 2014
Born in Chicago of Armenian parents, who immigrated there. She moved to Phoenix where she met her husband of 55 years, Wes Barrett. They had 4 children and she is survived by Wes, daughter Vicki, son Wesley, and son Warren and their spouses Jeff, Brenda and Irith. She had 3 grandchildren: Claire, Jade, and Alyssa, and one great- grandson, Conor; sister-in-law Seta and brother-in-law Boris; 2 nephews, Mark and Paul and 2 nieces, Celeste and Julie.
She led a very full, active life; doing synchronized swimming shows at hotels in Hawaii before it became an Olympic event, raising 4 children, working as a financial advisor with husband Wes for 35 years and winning prestigious million dollar round table awards, volunteering, running, skiing, 25 cruises, diving the Great Barrier Reef, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Aconcagua, attending the Special Olympics ceremonies, and visiting 63 countries and most states.
She and Wes built 3 houses, the last being their super dream home which she enjoyed for 4 years. She loved making a positive difference in as many lives as possible, and including over 1,000 friends and family whom she considered family. When asked the secret of a long, happy marriage she would say, "Just be kind to each other."
She was so blessed with excellent health for 81 years of her life and only had challenges in the last few months. Now God has answered the prayers of so many dear loving friends for the best for her and now she is pain free and with our son Walter and all who have gone on before. Now she wishes all to remember her, send her love, and celebrate her fantastic life!
