MANUEL V. EROS Sr. Obituary

Oct. 19, 1921 - Sep. 9, 2013

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of a wonderful man. Manuel V. Eros Sr. left this world at age 92 on Monday September 9, 2013 at 7 p.m. surrounded by his loving family.
Manuel lived a long, fulfilling life. Born on October 19, 1921 in Ft. Yuma, CA to Abelardo and Santos Eros, Manuel was the eldest of 9 children. He was raised with strong religious values which he cherished deeply within his heart and poured out to his family. Manuel walked this life as an honest, kind, giving and loving soul. Known by his family as "Papa Meno" and "Pops", he loved singing and playing his guitar at gatherings and telling stories about his travels and military tours from which he served as Corporal in WWII for the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942-1946. He loved his country and served it honorably. Upon returning to the states after his discharge he eventually worked road construction for W.H. Reiley and ultimately retired in 1974. One of his favorite pastimes after retirement was to head out to various parts of the valley to oversee construction progress from his car. Manuel is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lupe Eros; and his loving children, Manuel Eros Jr, Margot Alcantar, Martha Alcantar, Gilbert Alcantar and Carlos Alcantar (Lucy); 14 grandchildren, Yvette Eros-Johnson (Jermane), Anthony Baiza, Miranda Atrian, Mikel Alcantar, Maria Teresa Alcantar, MariAnna Alcantar, Sergio Valle, Eric Valle, Christopher Alcantar, David Alcantar, Carlos "CJ" Alcantar Jr, Kayla Eros-Hernandez, Jasmine Eros, Manuel Eros III; 11 great-grandchildren, Meah Eros, Jeremiah Johnson, Jaylin Johnson, J.
