Bruce Curren Bartlett was born in Wilder, Idaho on July 10, 1921 to Thomas and Algie Bartlett. He graduated from Greenleaf Friends Academy in 1939 and attended Boise Jr College and the College of Idaho, as well as attending Purdue University. He married Elaine Bates on March 23, 1940. Elaine passed away on April 3, 1994. Bruce married Dixie Dotson on January 16, 1996.
Bruce farmed his entire life around the Caldwell Wilder area, as well as working for the Farm Bureau and Bunting Tractor. He loved the mountains and mined gold with his father near McCall until WWII. Bruce served in WWII in the Army Air Corp and was stationed in Victorville, California. Bruce belonged to the Deer Flat Free Methodist Church and donated the land for Camp Cascade. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, boating, horses and ATVs.
Bruce passed away at St Alphonsus in Boise on October 31, 2013. He is survived by his wife Dixie, his sister Ruth Anders, children Barbara & Bob Brown, Thomas & Dee Bartlett, Stephen & Paula Bartlett, Ben & Brenda Glanzman, Corinna Andrews, Lona & Daniel Neal, Bethony & Phillip Whitlatch, Jon & Jackie Glanzman, 29 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 gr-great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his first wife Elaine Bates Bartlett, his daughter Dolores Jeanette, brother William Bartlett, sister Marjorie Dunagan Rogers, and grandson Mark Bartlett.
Services will be held at Deer Flat Free Methodist Church, 17703 Beet Road, Caldwell at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, followed by graveside services at Greenleaf Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday, November 4 from 4 to 6 pm at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Memorial gifts in Bruce's honor can be made to Camp Cascade or
