Edward Andrew McFarland Sr.

Edward Andrew McFarland, Sr., 76 of Notus, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at home of natural causes. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 30th at Deer Flat Free Methodist Church, 17703 Beet Rd. in Caldwell.
Ed was born February 7, 1937 at Omaha, Nebraska the son of Earl and Isabelle Larimer McFarland. As a boy, his family moved to California where he was raised at Canoga Park. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in Korea. After his discharge from the Navy he returned to Canoga Park where he met Joan Rohlfing. They were married September 30, 1962 in Winterhaven, California. Ed worked as a painter for Weber Aircraft in Burbank, California. He and Joan moved back and forth from Burbank to Union, Oregon where Ed was a logger. They eventually settled in the Notus-Parma area where Ed worked for Champion and Nashua Mobile Homes and later Bar Diamond Laboratories and M.A.I. Inc. retiring in February of this year.
Ed is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan; children, Terry (Marilyn) Gabrinetti, Sue (Don) Walz, Ed (Cheryl) McFarland, Jr. and Christine (Duke) Buchholtz; a sister, Jean DeNunzio; a brother, Earl McFarland; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn.
