John C. Wilhite Jr.
February 26, 1932 - January 12, 2014
John C. Wilhite Jr. 81, passed away January 12, 2014 at his daughter's home. Born February 26, 1932 to the late John C. and Gladys (Allen) Wilhite in Delhi, Louisiana.
John joined the Army in his youth and shortly after began his long career in the welding industry in various capacities, from ship yards to the Alaskan pipeline. He started work at J.R. Simplot Company in Caldwell in 1969. After retiring from there, he was self employed and enjoyed designing and fabricating metal art and furniture.
John enjoyed playing his guitar and singing, white water rafting, fishing, traveling, camping, football, reading dictionaries (both English and Spanish), and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by a half brother and sister, and one daughter Sherry Lynne Davis.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Elaine Wilhite of Caldwell, Natalie Wilhite of Caldwell, Marleen Wilhite of Huntsville, Arkansas, & Angela Wilhite Isom (Mike) of Caldwell;
4 step children, DeanNa Cook, LaWrell Cook, Daniel Cook, and John Henry, 11 grand children, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great granddaughter.
Please join us in a Celebration of Life on February 26, 2014 at the Elks Lodge 1015 N. Kimball in Caldwell, Idaho beginning at 3 p.m. with music, reflections, an Elk's presentation at 5:30 p.m. and more music with Betty Adams, Tom Lowe, Bill Kolasch, Dee Hisel, and more.
