Daniel C. Lancaster, a resident of Chubbuck, Idaho, was born May 26, 1936 in Twin Falls, Idaho and passed away March 15, 2014 in Casa Grande, Arizona.
After graduating from Filer High School in 1954, Dan spent 2 years in the US Army where he was stationed in Berlin, Germany. Dan married Mary Lou Pierce on December 30, 1956. He spent 3 years farming in Filer, Idaho; 6 years working in the water softener and propane business; and retired in 1994 from the State of Idaho after 17 years as an Idaho State Policeman and 11 ½ years as a Motor Vehicle Investigator.
Dan was a member of the Filer Odd Fellows Lodge, Twin Falls Jaycees, Pocatello Elks Lodge, Pocatello American Legion and American Diabetes Association where he was Chapter Chair for 2 years.
Dan loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, camping with his family and dutch oven cooking. He was known for his love of music. He loved entertaining others, whether it be his talent on the harmonica or quick wit. You could always count on Dan for a good story, joke or a fun game of pool. He loved winters in Arizona and summers in Idaho.

Dan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Lancaster, and three daughters: Dana (Norm) Hoyle, Lorie (Bill) Reese and Joni (Tom) Crossan. He is also survived by 5 granddaughters; 3 step-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; a brother, Dave (Nancy) Lancaster of Twin Falls ID; a sister Betty Pfeifle of Lodi CA and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Phebe Lancaster, his brothers Fred and Bob Lancaster, and his grandson Craig Storrier.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 200 N. 15th, Pocatello, Idaho.
