Alfred "Al" John

Al John, 90, of Boise, ID, ended his journey here on earth, early Dec. 30, 2012 and went home to be with the Lord. He was born August 7, 1922, in Nutley, New Jersey to David and Florence John. During WW 11, Al served in the Army Air Corps in Europe as a weather observer and as a Communications Officer in the Korean Conflict.
He married Jennette (Jan) Schuitema in 1949 and were married for 51 years, until her death in 2000. Al received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1949 from Michigan State Univ. and an MBA degree in 1967. Al was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother and his beloved wife Jan. Survivors include his son, David John; daughter, Debbie Andrew; 6 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held Friday, January 4th, 11:00 am, at the Meridian United Methodist Church, 240 E. Idaho Ave., Meridian. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: National Stroke Assoc.; St. Luke's Hospice of Boise or the Meridian United Methodist Church.
