Frank Eugene Brown
1916 ~ 2013
Frank Eugene Brown, 97, of Port Ludlow, Washington passed away at home Sept. 1, 2013 surrounded by his wife of 77 years, Irene; sons, Tracy and Rodney; and daughters, Patricia and Phyllis.
Frank was born in Blackfoot, Idaho to James T. and Cecilia Ella (Miller) Brown on Jan. 15, 1916 and spoke fondly of his aunt/step-mother Maggie (Miller) Brown, who raised him as a result of Cecilia's death. He met the love of his life, Irene Spear, at Fruitland, Idaho; they married Oct. 17, 1936. He worked as a timber feller and construction foreman and superintendent on major construction projects.
In 1964, they moved to Alaska where Frank worked throughout Southeast Alaska on infrastructure projects and built specialty houses, including their own home in Juneau. They left Alaska in 1998 and settled in Port Ludlow.
Frank, second of 12 children, was preceded in death by his oldest son, Frank Allen. He is survived by his brother, Donald Brown; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frank was a life member of Elks Lodge #1429, Ketchikan, Alaska.
Memorial services are set for 2-5 pm, a pot-luck dinner at 3 pm with ham being provided, Saturday, Oct. 19th at the Elks Lodge #1683, 38 West Idaho St., Weiser, ID 83672
