Jeff was born in Bethlehem, PA, first born son of Dr. John and Grace Phillips. His family moved to Arizona when he was four years old and settled in Tucson, which was home until his move to Idaho in 1978. Jeff graduated high school in 1965, and entered the Marine Corps in 1967, honorably serving his country until 1971.
Jeff joined the Tucson Fire Department in 1974 and worked as firefighter and paramedic until moving to Boise with his wife Cheryl in 1978. During his 22 years in Boise, Jeff filled several positions with Ada County Paramedics, ending his time there as Assistant Director. He returned to college at Boise State University, earned a BBA in 1981, then worked at Boise Cascade for a few years as an accountant.
Jeff's servant heart wasn't fulfilled by corporate accounting; in 1990, he entered MEDEX Northwest at the University of Washington, graduating in 1992 as a Physician Assistant.
As a PA, Jeff's career has included Surgery, Family Practice, Geriatrics, Emergency Room, Wilderness and Urgent Care at facilities in Boise, Stanley, Caldwell and most recently, Weiser, ID.
