Richard Charles Cushman
1944 ~ 2013
Dad was born in in Los Angles, California, raised in San Dimas and was the youngest son to Wayman and Ruth Cushman. The family moved to Payette, Idaho in 1962 and it was also Dads Senior year of high school. Stories I've been told by his lifelong friends is it was quite the culture shock not only for him but for his classmates as well. After school he enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Ft. Lewis Washington. He met Holly Gooding and were married in 1967 which they had two sons. Dad worked for Boise Cascade and spent over thirty years there until his retirement. Dad has told many stories about the fun times spent with friends and family over the years. Racing hot rods in his early years, working at the family hardware store, spending time on Payette Lake in McCall and everything in between. And of course having beers with friends.
Dad is survived by his two sons Kelly and Justin Cushman, daughter-in law Kim Cushman, brother and sister in-law Bob and Pat Cushman, nieces Alexis and Tracy and nephew Bob Jr. Grandchildren Mariah, Neve, Dylan and Jasmine.
A formal service will not be held but would like to invite friends of Dads to Patrick's Pub in Payette on Saturday the 24th at 5pm for an informal gathering to toast Dad.
The family would like to express appreciation for all the kindness and support from friends of the family as well as the staff at St. Al's Medical Center.
